1. What is WBGT (Wet Bulb Globe Temperature)?
The Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) is an index used to evaluate the heat stress that a high-temperature environment places on the human body. It comprehensively reflects not only the air temperature but also humidity, radiant heat (solar radiation), and air flow (wind), providing the most accurate representation of the heat felt by outdoor workers.
During the summer, high humidity and direct sunlight (radiant heat) prevent sweat from evaporating from the skin, causing body temperature to rise rapidly. Because WBGT includes all these environmental factors, it can be measured higher than the temperature you see on the news.
2. Action Guidelines by Risk Level
These are the action guidelines based on official occupational safety standards. The HeatSafe app changes alerts and UI colors according to these criteria to provide immediate warnings.
- 🟢 Caution (Under 31℃): Drink water regularly while working.
- 🟡 Warning (31℃ - 33℃): 10-minute rest per hour recommended; provide water and saline.
- 🟠 Danger (33℃ - 35℃): 15-minute rest per hour mandatory; shorten outdoor work during the hottest hours (14:00-17:00).
- 🔴 Extreme Danger (Over 35℃): 15-minute rest per hour mandatory; highly recommended to completely halt outdoor work during the hottest hours.
3. Auto Pro: Automated Site Safety
With Auto Pro (Season Pass), a premium feature for site managers, you don't need to keep the app open.
Automatic Logging
Even when your smartphone is in your pocket, it periodically collects weather data in the background to monitor the WBGT at your current location. If the safety status is normal, it quietly logs the data every hour on the hour.
Risk Alerts and Action Confirmation
If the temperature spikes and reaches a 'Warning' level or higher, a push notification is sent to your smartphone. The manager can check the alert and confirm in the app that rest measures have been taken, thereby completing perfect legal documentary evidence.
4. PDF Form Export and Backup
Automatically accumulated logs or records scanned with AI can be checked at any time in the [History] tab. By pressing the 'Export' icon in the top right corner, you can generate a daily inspection checklist PDF for heat illness prevention formatted to official standards, and instantly share it via email or messenger.
